Growing doesn’t have to be hard

Your growth cannot flourish upon fears, insecurities and instability ~ it will merely remain stunted and unsatisfying.

Growth is the natural desire of the soul to increase what it can experience as it lives out a period of time within this vessel we call our body. So yes, growth is normal.

Whether it be before or as we enter this life, we quickly accumulate beliefs and conditioning that we attract in order to live out the lessons we’ve chosen. As more and more people become conscious of this process, many are questioning whether it has to be hard and what choices we have.

There are still yet many who agonise and toil over the growth process, questioning whether it’s really necessary at all, sometimes going in completely the opposite direction and saying “f**k it!” but are they off the hook or are they just resisting the inevitable? We all have free will, but doubtless what doesn’t get done in this lifetime will still be there to deal with the next time around …

But seriously (for the pain of growing can feel immensely serious at times), words can seem trite, yet this is not a trite business. We must find compassion for ourselves, and accept that growing means a recurring ability to shift, change and adapt to the world in which we live. We can draw upon our strengths and weaknesses, developing each as we need, in order to bring about balance. The continual evolution of this home-of-the-soul is to satisfy ITS needs, its thirst to experience more; and so the growth continues.

If we allow fears and limitations to stem that growth, the soul becomes bored, and we have the overriding feeling of there being little point to life (did I mention frustration too?).

Growing doesn’t have to be hard, but releasing our resistance to it can be. Releasing our insistence on dragging the past around with us, trying to recreate it in the present, is hard when it’s such a deeply ingrained pattern.

When was the last time you dared to dream about the life you’d actually like to be living, and what is stopping you from stepping into that? Are you aware of things within you that need to change before you could possibly enter that ‘dream life’? Maybe it’s time to reassess what really matters to you and the real choices you need to make…
